I saw your article in Bootleg last night (unfortunately I didn't catch it sooner). Anyways, last summer, my friend and I did a bike trip from Virginia to Nevada (we were gunning for California but got cut off due to injuries and time constraints--see my blog at xcusa.blogspot.com). I know you are planning on leaving Monday, but I thought I'd extend an offer from one long-distance biker to another for any last minute help you may need on gear or whatever. It's quite an undertaking you've planned and I'm very envious. I've been thinking about doing something similar for quite a while.
